Questions about staying on Anglesey?
We have the answer.

How many people does Ty Cerrig sleep?

What is provided?

Maximum 6 people

The kitchen is very well-equipped with plenty of glasses, crockery, roasting tins etc and all the utensils you require, including scales, a hand-held electric mixer and picnic baskets.

A ‘first night’ pack is provided which includes washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and a basket of logs for the log burner. You can buy more logs at the local shop, five minutes’ walk away.

Linen and bathroom towels are provided.

There are cycle racks at the rear of the property to secure your bikes.

Are dogs welcome?

Absolutely, dogs are very welcome – they are part of the family and it’s their holiday too! You’ll find plenty of places to stretch their legs, from the Anglesey Coastal Path and beaches to coastal parks and nature reserves.

Please bring your own pet bed. There are multiple dog bowls, dog towels and lots of dog throws.

If you wish your dog to sleep on your bed, please bring your own bed linen as dog hair gets everywhere and not everyone loves dogs.

Anglesey is extremely dog friendly and so it’s unlikely that you’ll want to leave your furry friend at home. If you do, there is a lovely experienced dog sitter who lives in the village. I ask that dogs aren’t left unattended as they’re in an unfamiliar environment and I want to avoid them being scared or stressed.

There is a large, enclosed dog-friendly garden and patio, the majority of which is over 6’ and the lowest point being just under 5’. Dog-friendly beaches are within five miles, there are country parks approximately seven miles away and there are lots of marked country trails right on the doorstep.

I do charge a small fee to cover the additional cleaning cost. We will donate the rest (2/3) to good causes, the inspiring Dogs4Rescue and local heroes, PAWS Anglesey.

What is the breakage deposit?

The breakage deposit is a cautionary deposit protecting against any accidental damage, breakages, losses or additional cleaning following your stay. I ask if there is any damage during your stay (and I know accidents do happen), you notify me at the time. It is rare that I have needed to retain part (or all) of this deposit and I will always try to resolve issues without needing to retain the deposit.

You will receive an email outlining departure guidance 24-hours before you are due to leave. This will include a reminder to let me know your bank details so that I can return the deposit by BACS transfer.

Are there local taxis available?

Yes, there are local taxis to take you into Rhosneigr, Aberffraw and surrounding villages. I recommend booking in advance.

Is the cottage suitable for wheelchairs?

Unfortunately, because the original cottage is approximately 200 years old, it is unsuitable for wheelchair users.

However, the bathroom, ensuite and utility room taps are dementia friendly. The shower cubicles are also non-slip and low profile.

Is the cottage heated?

The cottage is centrally heated by LPG gas which is controlled by a thermostat. Additional heat can be provided by the log burner in the lounge, should you want it.

A checklist for staying on Anglesey.
What do you need to bring?

On booking you will receive a link for a comprehensive digital guide book. This includes a detailed inventory and list of what you might want to include. This is a good starting point:

  • wellies or walking boots if you are planning to explore (there is an outdoor tap to wash muddy boots and paws…)

  • logs and firelighters for the log burner - we recommend hardwood as they will burn slower and for longer (you will generally need one per hour)

  • charcoal for the barbecue

  • cartridges for the Soda Stream

  • beach towels

  • a dog bed

  • indoor games, guide books and toys
